Had a great time with the Captain and crew on the KonaDice, including King. I took my two boys (9 and 11) out for a day on the water, and the team made it easy from the start. Communication was clear, and everything was ready when we arrived at the dock. They were great with the kids, keeping things fun while also showing them how to handle the gear, tie lines, and work the reels. The boys stayed involved the whole trip and got to help bring in some solid fish. The captain adjusted quickly to changing conditions, moving spots and switching up the setup to keep us on the bite. We ended the day with 4 ahi, mahi mahi, and skipjack. Plenty of action and a memorable trip for all of us. Highly recommend for both experienced anglers and families. Great job, Cap.

We went out with Kona Dice, Captain Jim, and Jimmy, and they were outstanding from start to finish. They kept adjusting the setup and moving spots to stay on the fish, which made a big difference. We landed a couple of nice tuna early, then things picked up fast with a triple hookup on blue marlin. We brought two to the boat and kept one. A day we won’t forget. Highly recommend Kona Dice if you’re looking for a solid trip.

We had an amazing day on the water. It was the first charter trip for my dad and my two sons, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Captain Jimbo and his mate were outstanding. They were patient with the boys, shared helpful tips, and kept everyone involved the whole time. It was clear they knew where to go and how to adjust to keep us on the fish. Watching my family hook into some solid action made the trip even more special. The crew brought great energy and stayed focused on making sure we had a productive and enjoyable day. We’d recommend this charter to anyone heading to Kona, whether you’re new to fishing or have experience. My wife and I took our four young kids out on the KonaDice with Captain Jim and Sean, and they were great with them from the start. They handled everything with patience, especially with one child nervous about the swells and another dealing with a bit of seasickness. Despite that, we still had a productive trip. We caught some tuna and even landed a short-billed marlin, which was the biggest fish our kids have ever seen. If you’re bringing younger kids, this crew is a solid choice. The boat may not be the newest, but it’s well-run, safe, and reliable, and the crew makes the experience easy for families.

Captain Jim and deckhand sawyer are a very experienced team. They put us on fish right out of the harbor and worked the lines the whole time we were fishing. We caught two Mahi Mahi’s, but it would have been a great experience even if we didn’t catch anything because they were very informative and helpful the whole trip. I would highly recommend this boat to anyone who is looking for a charter. these guys are a top notch hard working crew who will give you the best experience they can offer!

Captain Jim and his deckhand Brandon absolutely crushed it! We booked a 10-hour trip and they turned it into 12 hours because Jim wasn’t happy with the bite and refused to quit. Non-stop effort, constant moves, and zero give-up attitude. Walked off with ~6 small bigeye tuna, a 120 lb blue marlin of a lifetime, and one big mahi that got sharked at the gaff (classic offshore robbery). Hands-down one of the hardest-working crews I’ve ever fished with. If you want captains who actually care about putting you on fish, book Captain Jim and his crew!

My friend and his son drove up from Sacramento for a day of tuna fishing off the coast of Hawaii! And you know what? We did it five times with this incredible crew! The captain steered the boat precisely to where the fish were. The deckhand did an incredible job ensuring our success. This wasn't a luxury vacation, but a real man's fishing trip. The boat and crew were straight out of an Ernest Hemingway book—reliable, precise, and comfortable just for fishing, that's all! If you love fishing, I highly recommend this boat! But if you're looking for a luxury vacation, you might want to consider another option! This is man's, tough, and hard fishing, and I would definitely do it again!

Captain Jeff and his crew were AMAZING. They put us on fish right away and it was non stop. i actually had to take a small break lol because i was catching so many fish. so I highly recommend Kona dice to everyone. You will not be disappointed and you’ll leave with a bag of fish just like I did thank you Kona dice appreciate the time and I would recommend the six hour or above. Also got to see Whales and 🦈 as well. great trip great day.

Captain Jim and Dave made us feel welcome. We tried for big game fish, but didn’t get any. We did, however, come back with nearly 100 lbs of skipjack tuna (it makes for excellent poké). Would recommend!

We fished with Captain Jim about a year ago, and while the day was steady, the action came late with an 80 lb blue marlin in the final stretch. This trip followed a similar pattern. Captain Jim and deckhand Tevin stayed locked in the whole time, adjusting lures and tactics to match the conditions. We had a few close calls with a billfish and a big bull mahi, and it started to feel like we might run out of time. Then, with about 30 minutes left before heading in, a reel lit up. After great teamwork, clear coaching, and a solid 30-minute fight, we brought a 150 lb blue marlin boatside. Another great day with the Konadice crew. Looking forward to the next trip.

Our family of four, with two adults and two kids (10 and 12), had a great 3/4 day trip. The kids were beginners, but the crew made it easy for them to learn and stay involved the whole time. We hooked into a 110 lb blue marlin early on. My 12-year-old fought it all the way to the boat, though it came off at the end. After that, the captain read the situation well and focused on keeping the action steady. He found a school of yellowfin tuna and rainbow runners, which gave the kids plenty of chances to reel in fish. The kids had a great time and were already asking to do it again next time we’re in Hawaii. We’ll definitely book with Kona Dice again. Also, going with the 6-hour trip was a good call. The extra time made a big difference and was worth it.
